The key to success in the surplus business is to 'buy it right'. It's all about how you buy the products you sell. If you overspend on your inventory, then you will have a tough time making it up on the sell side. Remember, your competition is Wal-mart, Target and the like. You have to be able to provide the product the consumer wants at a great price and still make a profit. The only way to do that is to buy it at a great price.
